Before smartphones, streaming, and shopping malls, Sundays in District 11 could mean something far more thrilling, spent at the Children’s Horse Race at Phú Thọ Horse Racing Ground.
Laughter mixed with the sound of pounding hooves, as young riders in colorful jerseys dashed toward the finish line. It wasn’t just a race, it was a pocket of joy in the city’s rhythm.
The historic track, which saw countless moments like these, eventually closed its gates in 2011, leaving behind only memories and photographs like this one by Gysembergh Benoit, keeping the gallop alive in our minds.
